MCRO's search choices affect what a user can find after an arrest. The most important Cass County warning is that pending criminal, traffic, and petty misdemeanor cases with no conviction may not return by defendant name. MCRO terms say those pending cases may return by case number. That makes paperwork, citation numbers, warrant numbers, and court notices valuable when the case is new.

Charges Filed After Arrest
The jail register can show arrest charge language before a prosecutor makes the formal charging decision. The Cass County Attorney's Office reviews the case and files the charges that become the court record. Some Cass County inmates cannot be released by paying local bail alone because another warrant, detainer, probation or parole matter, DOC commitment, federal case, or transport issue remains active. Cass County Arrest Warrants
Cass County publishes an official warrants PDF from the same jail page that hosts the roster. The county says the warrants PDF is updated once daily at 7 a.m. The inspected June 18, 2026 warrant report listed warrant number, name, age, date issued, offense level, and charges. It included bench warrants and arrest warrants with misdemeanor, gross misdemeanor, and felony levels.
A warrant can lead to a jail booking, and a booking can lead to new court records after arrest. If a person is arrested on a Cass County warrant, the jail register may show the in-custody entry and the court file may show the bench warrant, failure to appear, or related hearing history. Charges and Convictions
A charge is not a conviction. Court records after a jail arrest may show allegations long before a final result exists. A conviction appears only after a guilty plea, trial verdict, or other qualifying final outcome. Sealed or Expunged Records
Minnesota law distinguishes remote access limits, sealed records, expungement, and active investigative limits. MCRO terms and judicial branch rules limit some records online even when a public terminal may offer different access. Minnesota expungement statutes also create routes for certain dismissals, exonerations, diversion outcomes, stays of adjudication, qualifying offenses, and petition-based sealing.
